We specialize in minimally invasive and traditional foot and ankle procedures tailored to each patient’s needs. From bunion, hammertoe correction to tendon repair, fracture management, and foot/ankle reconstruction or joint replacement, our goal is to provide safe, effective surgery with faster recovery and long-term results.
Achilles Tendonitis
Achilles tendon connects the calf muscles to the heel bone. Achilles tendonitis is inflammation build up due to overuse/injury of the Achilles tendon. Sometimes this can lead to injury, partial or complete rupture of the Achilles tendon. We offer Achilles tendon repair surgery.
Ankle Instability
Ankle sprains are one of the most common injuries. If they don’t heal properly, they can lead to chronic ankle instability—a feeling that the ankle gives out or is wobbly, especially during walking or sports. We offer surgical treatments to restabilize the ankle and restore stability
Arthritis
Arthritis in the foot and ankle can cause pain, stiffness, swelling, and make walking difficult. Treatment depends on the type of arthritis, how severe it is, and how much it affects daily life. Based on the presentation, best surgical treatment recommendations are determined. Some examples may include, joint fusion (arthrodesis) versus joint replacement (arthroplasty). Also see MIS section.
Bunion (Hallux Valgus)
A bunion (hallux valgus) is a bony bump that forms at the base of the big toe, where it meets the foot. It occurs when the big toe leans toward the second toe, causing the joint to become misaligned. Bunions can be painful, which can lead to swelling, and make it difficult to wear certain shoes. Many surgical options are available, including bunion surgery, allowing you to walk the same day of surgery in many cases. Also see MIS section.
Flatfoot Reconstruction
Flatfoot (fallen arches) can cause pain, swelling, and trouble walking or standing for long periods. If non-surgical treatments don’t help, flatfoot reconstruction surgery may be an option to correct the structure and relieve symptoms.
Foreign Body
Treatment for a foreign body in the foot typically becomes necessary when the object is deep, difficult to locate, or causing complications such as infection, pain, or impaired mobility. We offer surgical treatments for foreign body excision/removal.
Hammertoes
Hammertoe is a deformity in which one or more of the small toes bend abnormally at one, or more than one, of the toe joints, causing the toe to curl downward instead of pointing forward. This condition can be flexible (able to be straightened) or rigid (fixed in place). We offer surgical treatments for Hammertoes. Also see MIS section.
Neuroma
A neuroma is inflammation surrounding nerves in the foot. Symptoms include but are not limited to, burning, tingling, or numbness in specific areas of the foot. We offer, when indicated, surgical treatments for neuroma(s).
Plantar Wart
Plantar warts are small growths that appear on the bottom of the foot, caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). They can be painful, especially when walking or standing, and may feel like a pebble under the skin. We offer various ways to help get rid of plantar or any warts of the foot & ankle. Latest technology is used to address plantar warts at AFAS.
Soft Tissue Mass
Soft tissue masses are lumps or growths that form in the foot or ankle. Most are benign (non-cancerous) but can still cause pain, swelling, or problems with shoes and walking. We offer surgical treatments for management of all soft tissue mass/or tumors.
Tendon/ Ligament Tears & Rupture
Tendon and ligament ruptures can cause pain, swelling, weakness, or instability in the foot or ankle. Treatment depends on the location, severity, and your activity level. We offer surgical treatments for all tendon injuries; including partial or full tears or ruptures.
Ankle Fractures
Ankle fractures refers to a break or crack in one or more of the bones that make up the ankle joint, which includes the tibia, fibula, and talus. This type of injury often occurs due to trauma such as a falls, sports injury, or twisting motion. We offer surgical treatments of most ankle fractures
Ankle Scope
Ankle pain can result from many different conditions. To name a few: arthritis, injury etc. Sometimes to evaluate the ankle joint, we utilize the ankle scope; small camera that is inserted into a joint for visualization.
Big Toe Arthritis (Hallux limitus/hallux rigidus)
Hallux limitus is a progressive condition affecting the big toe joint (first metatarsophalangeal joint), leading to stiffness, pain, and reduced range of motion. It is often a precursor to hallux rigidus, where the joint becomes completely immobile. Based on the presentation, best surgical treatment recommendations are determined. Some examples may include, joint fusion (arthrodesis) versus joint replacement (arthroplasty).
Exostosis or Bone Spur
A bone spur, or osteophyte, is a small growth that develops along the edges of bones, often where bones meet at the joints. In the foot and ankle, bone spurs commonly from due to pressure, arthritis, or long-term stress, on the joints and tendons. They can cause pain, stiffness, and irritation-especially when rubbing against shoes or surrounding tissues. We offer surgical treatments for excision or management of bone spurs. Also see MIS section
Foot Fracture
A foot fracture refers to a break or crack in one of the bones of the foot, which can result from trauma such as an accident, fall, sports injury, or excessive stress on the foot. We offer surgical treatments for foot fractures.
Hallux Varus
Hallux varus is a condition in which the big toe deviates medially; away from the other toes. It can be congenital, acquired, or develop as a complication of prior surgery. The condition may cause discomfort, difficulty in walking, and cosmetic concerns. We offer surgical treatments to correct Hallux Varus.
Ingrown Toenail
An ingrown toenail happens when the edge of your nail grows into the surrounding skin—usually on the big toe (can be any toe(s)). This can cause pain, redness, swelling, and sometimes infection. We offer in clinic, sometimes operating room, procedure to fix/take out an ingrown toenail (same day appointment)
Plantar Fasciitis
Plantar fasciitis is a common cause of heel pain that occurs when the plantar fascia (a thick band of tissue on the bottom of the foot) becomes inflamed. If non-surgical treatments fail, surgical treatment may be needed. Also see MIS and Regenerative treatments sections (same day appointment)
Revision Foot & Ankle Surgery
Reconstructive surgery helps restore normal shape, function, and movement in the foot or ankle. Sometimes surgical corrections do not end up as planned and may need to be revised. We offer surgical revision treatments for most failed surgeries.
Tailor's Bunion
A tailor's bunion, also known as a bunionette, is a bony bump that forms on the outside of the forefoot. It is similar to a big toe bunion but occurs below the pinky toe. We offer surgical treatments for Tailor's bunion. Also see MIS section.
Toe Fractures
A toe fracture is a break or crack in one of the bones of the toes, which can occur due to trauma, such as stubbing the toe, dropping something on the foot, or participating in high-impact activities. We offer surgical treatments for toe fractures. Also see MIS section.
